Once upon a time, a little girl wanted to be a writer. She put her thoughts on paper and let them sit there for the dust to settle in. Too afraid to show them to anyone, she felt like those were her innermost fantasies. Anyone reading them would see through her and laugh at her soul as if she were naked.
The girl sat with her legs crossed, embroidering a rag doll. A deck of books perched on the floor, the colors of her life laid out before her. She looked up and saw herself in a mirror. As the image blurred and slipped, she saw something else: a child, a woman, a warrior. All of them twisted and entwined to create words.
Those words remained forgotten inside her notebooks for decades, and she felt sorry for them. She said, “Screw it! I don’t care anymore of what people would think!”
And so, Helen Bold was born. Having superpowers like Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup, she rose to conquer the world with her words. Well, not really like The Powerpuff Girls, but you get the picture.
Even though Helen Bold has no body, she can feel everything. She is composed of ideas, words, and stories. As long as she serves as the little girl’s shield, she won’t admit she’s not real. Helen Bold is as real as her stories.
Words are like paths blazing through the grass, creating a maze of green to hide their glistening white bones, to mislead hungry hunters. To lure you into them, to confuse you, that there is the final rush. But the little girl and Helen Bold are up for the task. Follow us into a world of wonder and find together everything that is missing from reality. Our souls are craving for more. Let’s give them what they need!
